Global Study Reveals Impact of Modifiable Risk Factors on Cardiovascular Health and Mortality

Global Effect of Modifiable Risk Factors on Cardiovascular Disease and Mortality

A global study analyzed data from over 1.5 million participants to assess the impact of five modifiable risk factors (body-mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, smoking, and diabetes) on cardiovascular disease and overall mortality. The research found that these risk factors are associated with a significant percentage of cardiovascular disease cases and deaths. Among women, 57.2% of cardiovascular disease cases and 22.2% of deaths can be attributed to these factors, while among men, the figures are 52.6% and 19.1%, respectively.
