Simple Summary – Intermittent Fasting: Is the Wait Worth the Weight?

Paper: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5959807

This was a 2018 review of the literature out there for intermittent fasting. They reviewed clinical trials and performed a literature search looking for anything related to intermittent fasting starting from 1970 to 2018. Similar to the paper previously summarized the previous day, they concluded a variety of benefits for intermittent fasting. These benefits include weight loss, improved body composition, and positive effects on aging. Cellularly, they state that cells may be healthier overall with decreased inflammation and stress. This may promote longevity in cells. These studies though are very mixed in how they were created so it is difficult to have concrete conclusions. However, they do believe that intermittent fasting may be a viable method for weight loss.
