There’s a link between exercise and improved physical health. However, there has not been literature that has strongly supported the link between exercise and improved mental health. Using survey data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the researchers analyzed patient mental health in a population of over a million. People who exercised in general were found to have better mental health days and lower mental health burdens. It was also found that more exercise did not automatically mean a proportionally increase in mental health and that not all exercises would have the same impact.
